Pre-K Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year

PreK registration for Tattnall County students will begin with a drive-through packet pickup on June 1 9:00-11:00 a.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. at each of our four sites (CES, RES, GES, and TCHS). Parents should drive through at the site where your child will attend PreK to be given a numbered packet with instructions about how to complete the packet. No walk up requests will be accepted. Only one packet will be given to each family, and each family is responsible for picking up your own packet (multiple packets will not be given to friends). If you have twins or triplets, please notify the school before June 1 so they can be prepared to have the packets available. No completed packets will be accepted on June 1. When packets are completed and include appropriate documentation, please turn in at the same site where you received the packet at the following times: June 2-4 (8:00-1:00) or June 8-11 (8:00-1:00). If you are unable to make copies of the required documents, please call the school where your child will attend to make an appointment for someone to make the necessary copies. All packets should be returned by June 11 in order to secure your child's spot! If we have not received the required registration information by this time, we will ask the next child on the waiting list.

Information for our School Family 4/5/2020

Our feeding program begins Monday, March 23rd. Please see the announcement on the district website for places and times (www.tattnallschools.org).

Following the Governor's executive order, all public schools will remain closed through this school year. Please continue to check our school websites and social media accounts for updates. We will also continue to utilize our normal communication tools.

Our spring break, which is scheduled for April 13-17, will remain the same as planned.

At this point, we have not developed any plan for make-up days.

State testing has been canceled.

Online resources are available on our district website (http://bit.ly/2xFjS5Y). We are providing these resources to help students remain engaged in the learning process; however, we are not concerned about assessing for grades. We encourage parents to use this time to love on and connect with their children. Here are a few ideas:
*Talk to your children about your family history/ancestry;
*Read to your child or have him/her read to you;
*Teach him/her how to balance a checkbook;
*Take a nature walk and enjoy the beauty of the world;
*Teach your child a life skill - how to change a tire, how to cook a meal;
*Have your child practice basic math facts, such as multiplication.

Please don't think that you have to recreate school at home. Once we are back to normal, we will pick up where we left off. We will make it through this together. #whateverittakes

Take care of yourself and your families!
Gina
