RES Calendar Update
We have had to change the end of the year calendar of events once again. We apologize for the changes, but they had to be made in order to find time to administer the CRCT “retests” for grades 3 and 5. Please note the following changes/updates. Changes are also noted on our school website and we will try to send out another reminder as the end of the year approaches. Thank you for your understanding. Please note date and program changes below.
Monday, May 10 – K-1 Awards Day - 9:00
Tuesday, May 11 – 2-3 Awards Day – 9:00
Wednesday, May 12 – 4-5 Awards Day – 9:00
Friday, May 14 – Kindergarten End of Year Program – 9:00 in classrooms
*Friday, May 14 - Field Day for grades 3-5 will remain on this date
**Reminder – Friday, March 12 and Monday, March 15 will be
Spring Holidays for students and teachers.
Parker Cox is the Winner of the Tattnall County Spelling Bee
The spelling bee took place on Tuesday, February 9th at Reidsville Elementary School. Parker is a 5th grade student at RES! Parker is the son of Shelly Watts and Gerald Cox. Parker Cox will go on to represent Tattnall County in the District Spelling Bee on February 27th in Waycross at Ware County High School. Congratulations Parker!

Book Fair Diner: All You Can Read!
Are you hungry for a good book? We'll have books for all tastes at our Spring Book Fair Diner! You can choose from a great selection of picture books, bestsellers, chapter books, mystery, humor, and more. What else is on the menu? We also have a great family event planned during our Winter Carnival on March 5th beginning at 5:00 p.m. This sounds like a recipe for fun! Our Book Fair Diner will run March 5th - 11th at RES. Information for Parents!!
After School Program
Reidsville Elementary School will not offer the After School Program this year, 2010. Due to limited funding for these services, (including teacher and paraprofessional salaries as well as transportation costs) the program will not be cost effective at this time. Should additional funding become available, we will purchase educational materials that will support instruction across grade levels and content areas. Please encourage your child to read, practice math facts and do their homework each night as we partner to get students ready for the CRCT in April.

We all shop for groceries, sometimes two or three times a week –- or more. Now turn those shopping trips into easy cash for Reidsville Elementary School, and encourage friends to do the same! Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products like Cheerios®, Hamburger Helper® and Kleenex®, in almost every aisle of the store.
