Folk Hero Day
1st grade students at RES have been learning about American folktales and how they characterize our national heritage. They have learned about John Henry, Johnny Appleseed, Davy Crockett, Paul Bunyan, and Annie Oakley.  To conclude this unit, 1st grade students celebrated Folk Hero Day at RES on Thursday by dressing as their favorite folk hero!

RES Celebrates Grandparent's Day!
Reidsville Elementary School recently invited grandparents to spend time with their grandchildren at school. The school holds its annual Grandparents Day celebration every year during the month of September.  Dr. Debevec was on hand to greet the grandparents as they came in.  Grandparents enjoyed the following activities with their grandchild during their visit:   breakfast, professional portraits, a visit to the classroom, and a visit to the Book Fair.  We at RES value the major role they play in the lives of our students.  Grandparents day is a big event for us. It's our opportunity to show our appreciation!
